We know what burdens feel like. They make our hearts feel heavy — like something is weighing us down. However, we should never bear the burdens of the troubles we experience in our life. We need to place all of our burdens at the foot of God so that he can lift the heaviness off of us.
Look at what David tells us to do with our burdens in Psalm 55:22 :
Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Whenever we are burdened, God promises to sustain us and not let us be moved (which means to be shaken or totter).
But there is something we must do to receive this promise. We must cast our burden on the Lord through prayer.
Open my heart to receive your love. Allow me to have a stronger FAITH in you. Forgive me for trying to deal with my burdens on my own. Lord, right now my heart is open to receive your HELP to sustain me. I will not be shaken nor will I allow the enemy to trick me into believing that I have to carry the weight of my burdens alone. I give you all of my burdens, my worries, my fears, my insecurities, my finances, my family, my friends, my job and any thing that is trying to damage me mentally, emotionally and physically. I give you my brokenness. Release me from my burdens. Allow my soul to be free to trust you. Give me a renewed strength and a new perception of life.
In Jesus name I pray.
